if only...My Sopranos Mob name: "The Delicious." From the Sopranos Mob Name Generator. Spiffy stuff. I've never seen the show, but...

w00t! The blog is now on geocities. I guess the ftp errors were just temporary. Stoopid scs firewalls... And the template is changed, yet again. New colours (with a 'u'), etc, etc. And I can put images on it too! So I guess this is version 3.2 (third name of blog, second template). w00t! (if someone can tell me what 'w00t!' means, I would appreciate it. I gather that it's' a way of saying 'woohoo!', but my l337 deciphering skills are still in the infant stage).

Booyah!

The Killer Biology ISU is done and over with! Goodbye tuberculosis. Hello galvanometer.

You know, I would have thought that projects and essays in grade 12 would be more focused on the actual project and the information being presented. Little did I know that after 12 years, having a cover, table of contents and page numbers on the top right hand corner, exactly 1" from both edges of the paper would still be worth 20 flipping percent of the mark! I spent all of yesterday's lunch revising my references because the APA style of references is completely different (and wacked out) from the normal method we use at the school. Everyone else in the media room was freaking out over....making a table of contents. A table of contents. Do we really need to have on eof these at an OAC level? I know it's useful but do teachers really need to take off 5% if we don't have one?

On a completely different topic: Survivor 2 made it's debut last Sunday after Superbowl XXXV. I mean after the post-game show composed of nothing more than meaningless recaps, replays and analyzation of the game. What is there to analyze, honestly? It's a game filled with big, sweaty men chasing each other around, occasionally plowing into each other and breaking a limb or two, all for the sake of this little leather ball. Ahem. On the the other game: a show filled with young (mostly), trim Americans, plotting and scheming behind each other's backs while destroying the other team and eating unmentionably squirmy bugs, all for 1 million dollars, a $100, 000 advertising deal with Reebok, several expensive interviews, a horde of fanboys (or girls), a guest appearence on Rosie and 15 minutes of fame. Yeah, I like the show, but I can't deny the superficiality of it. This series is kind of boring though. You get the feeling that you've seen it all before: initial arrival, scrambling for supplies, challenges, blah blah blah. But I'm still watching it. :) It's like a drug. I got my brother hooked on it, too.

New topic: I can't get this laptop to work properly. More specifically, I can't get the sound to only go through the headphones. I didn't notice for 5 minutes that sound was coming out the laptop speakers. Argh! I want my music! Stoopid mashin.

Later...
I B happy now. Shiawase desu. Why? I don't know.

New name for the blog: Non sequitur. See side bar for details.

Even later:
Why do computers hate me? I spent the last hour trying to get Blogger to FTP my blog to my geocities account. But I kept on getting a "Broken pipe" msg and it wouldn't work properly. But it (semi) works right now. Knock on wood, knock on wood...

Survivor in two days.....still two days...

New template! Actually, I just changed the background colour to white and the font colour to black. And someone, or something, snuck over here overnight. That something mauled and dragged off all my archives. I know they're here somewhere, but I guess I's gots to go a-huntin' today.

-20 Celcius today.

That's all there is to say for now.

-20 Celcius.

Why am I at school today?

I have five classes (three spares and two 50 minute classes). And because it's Parent Teacher Interviews today, the whole day is shortened. AND it's Chinese New Year! WHY am I at school? Because tuition is worth more than the entire contents of my house and to skip a day of school would be the equivilant of selling the car.

In case you haven't noticed, I'm in a foul mood today.

1:43 PM --

Okay. Mood is much improved by spending a spare in the library, working *gasp!* yes working on my biology ISU. The reason I was in a bad mood before was that I was trying to work in the seminar room, but there was math help going on (not the problem). The problem was that i was trying to work but 5 minutes into the period, about 15 people come into the room and start talking very loudly about Abercrombie, Arby's, their health projects and Temptation Island. Argh! But that's over and I'm in the library now, checking my email in tha peaceful bliss known as "silence".

I've found a new project by MODUS productions. Faren.org is the website. I'm not quite sure what the story is about, but it looks interesting. Go check it out. Also, for any Evangelion fans, take a look at MODUS' (used to be Orbit) EVA-R, a continuation/alternate universe of NGE.

Hee hee hee. Tiffany is paranoid. She let me see her blog, but won't let me post the link. (silly duck). All i have to say is....the pink! Ah, the pink is coming!

It's Chinese New Year Eve. My aunt's family is coming over for dinner. Translation: Me = babysitter. Two cousins. Grade 5 and 3. They're actually fairly responsible, and don't require much attention (like Chia pets), but every so often, they get bored and run to my room to find something to do. Which is okay, but I can't get any work done. And I NEED to get this work done or else. If you attend SCS, you'll know what "or else" means. The S-word. Yes. SENDERS.

(I'm sorry, I didn't mean to frighten all you Clementines like that.)

Anyway, I wish everyone a Happy New Year! Gong xi fa chai!

1.22.2001

it's monday. another school day full of work, work and more work.

and a certain SURVIVOR-fanatic (i.e. Tiffany) is being a bum and won't show me her new blog. she says she's taken down her old one, so i have to take that off the links list. poo to you tiff! i want to see it!

1.18.2001

sick today.

....

feeling like a dead fish.

....

someone hand me a spatula. i need to scrape myself off the floor.

1.17.2001

on a laptop again. i don't like using the mouse, so i'm learning all the different shortcuts.

more ranting. or rather, a blunt statement of fact: i am buried alive in schoolwork. not so much homework (except al/geo) but it seems that every course i'm taking requires an ISU/project worth 30% of my mark must be assigned, all within a month of each other. physics isn't that bad (build a galvanometer, no problem) but the biology ISU, geography olympics bid project, and the spit-polished copy of my english essay are a bit much. add on more yearbook work and regular homework and you have a lot of busy grade 12's at SCS.

i can't wait for summer.

1.16.2001

woohoo! i love these laptops. this year, the school decided that instead of raising the tuition to waste it on more useless colour printers, they would raise the tuition and waste it on buying a cart full of toshiba laptops.

at first, the rumour went around that the laptops were for the grade 7's only. of course, everyone (i.e. grade 10 and up) immediatly got pissed. why would grade seven's need laptops?! but i guess the rumour wasw false (or the parents complained, which i doubt) and laptops are now available to borrow from the library (only problem is that there are only about 12 or so). point is, they're really useful. now, if all the rooms with computers have classes in them (forget if...when. there are always classes in these classrooms now), i can just borrow one from the library. and i can go anywhere. no more stifling hot library full of screaming little kids researching the how and why's of tigers/whales/plants.

only problems: i can'trt ty[pe preoperltyt. io guessa i neeeed mores practicde wieht thewse flat litttle ubuttons...

1.11.2001

today is much warmer. i can actually get to school without stopping to thaw out my legs.

*develops inescapable urge to rant*

first off, no ride to finch station today. okay, so i take the bus. 15 minutes to finch, no problem. arrive at finch, go downstairs, and....wait. and wait. and wait. at this point, i'm 10 minutes late and beginning to get peeved. turns out the subway system isn't working from finch to sheperd stations (about three stops). being the epitome of effeciency, the ttc announces that shuttle buses are available to take everyone to sheperd station. of course, a mad stampede for the bus level ensues. and the escalator to the bus level is broken. again. it's been broken for the last 3 days. this is the time that i'm glad i walk fast. it's really quite frightening, seeing little old ladies clutching their bags and purses plowing through a crowd of mostly high school students. once on the bus level, we have to wait somemore for the shuttle buses to arrive. by the time it gets there, i'm 20 minutes late. it takes another 5 minutes to navigate through the traffic onto yonge street. okay, patience, patience..... surprisingly, i get to school withough throttling someone.

the point of this rant: i hate the TTC. they SUCK. usually service is okay. buses on time, trains on time, everything is hunky-dory. but come winter, and the whole thing crumbles. delayed trains, broken escalators...urgh. another reason to leave toronto for university: to avoid having to take the ttc to school everyday.

1.10.2001

it-t-t-t-t-t-t-t's v-v-v-v-very c-c-c-c-c-cold-d-d-d-d-d.....

i think the school needs a better heating system. parts of the school are nice and toasty warm, but the reest (i.e. the science labs, hallways, lunchroom) are cold enough to freeze a brass monkey.

quote of the day: "sticks and stones may break my bones, but so would an 80 lbs. carrot."

1.08.2001

back to school! no more holidays. :(

not that i did anything productive during them. let's see. i watched about 50 (thousand) movies, including: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Castaway, What Women Want, U-571, Spawn, Spawn (the cartoon), Life, Utena movie (...........o_O), El Dorado, The Mask, etc. my dad got a dvd player, so we spent much of the holidays breaking it in. and the bon jovi crush tour dvd, thanks to my brother, i watched jon bon jovi strut around onstage in zurich in embaressingly tight pleather pants while singing "it's my liiiiiiiiiiiife, my heart is like an open highway, lifrakensid i did it my way...."

my brother finds it amusing that i can't decipher what said jon is singing and that i have nicknames for them because of the way they look. jon bon jovi is the camel, richie is the pimp, tico is (of course) the hitman, david bryant is curly sue (just LOOK at his hair) and the bass player is....the guy that no one notices.

my friends and i had a sleepover after new year's. watched spawn, utena (again........o_O), muchmusic, and a the first 8 eps of kareshi kanojo no jijo (his and her circumstances). it got kind of sappy towards the end, but i liked it. it's produced by gainax (producers of evangelion.....it seems strange to watch any ep of eva and then watch this. very light-hearted series). and we watched dragonhalf....."since dabugaru's brain is compact, it was only knicked!" hoooooooooooooohahaha mercy.... over half of the series is in SD, but it's still really, really, funny ("dick saucer! eeeeeeeeeEEE!") reminds me of ranma.

(must stop typing now. wow, this is one heckuva post.)
