SARSapalooza! EXCLAMATION MARK!!

Off to see the Rolling Stones, AC/DC, The Tea Party, The Guess Who, Justin "One of these things is not like the other" Timberlake, and Sam Roberts tomorrow after everyone gets back from werk. Managed to beg (well, it wasn't really that hard. I'm only supposed to werk M, Th, F) Wednesday off. I'd really rather get Thursday off. I don't think I'll be functional after crawling home from Downsview Park at 1 am. I'll be lucky if I don't I don't fall asleep in the photocopying room and wake up with a staple remover attached to my skull.

In other news, I finished reading the new Harry Potter (three weeks ago) in less than 8 hours. Don't worry, no spoilers here. Lots of Angry!Harry, Fickle!Cho, BarelyThere!Hermione and a moment of DumbledoreYouGIT! Loads of funny icons here. Like so:

Ahahahaha!
...
That is all.
Oh look, it's Oliver Wood. Why? Because I can.
"She was all naked, and...articulate!" Raaar! Kenshin SMASH!

Itadakimasu!!!

Chock full of sashimi, tofu and mango ice cream. If you have twenty bucks to spare and an hour or so to waste, I highly recommend going to Yangs All-You-Can-Eat Sushi Bar. Too bad I forgot the address. It's somewhere in Unionville (on HWY 7). I think. Too full to think.

I've been neglecting this blog lately (see: over two weeks since last post. Oops) Let's see...what's been going on lately in the crazy (normal) busy (tired) too-much-to-do-to-post (too-lazy-to-open-Blogger-and-write-something-dammit) life of mine...

July 4 - sleepover at Jen's: Went to Dave & Busters' with the G/Jens and Tiff, won a bucket of tickets and exchanged them for two plastic army men and a diecast silver Porsche model. Afterwards, Gen decided that we were hungry and that only Asian food could sate us. So we drove up to Commerce Gate and had bubble tea and Taiwanese rice. Not enough, so we drove down to Pacific Mall (deserted), and then Metro Square (night festival with hundreds of people!) Ate Chinese hamburger, drank cheap bubble tea and smelled chou dofu.

July 7, 2003 - Foo Fighters concert: My first angry teenager concert. Lots of sweaty, stinky people high on ahem, the music. Ahem, ahem. What's more, it was being filmed for the Foo's upcoming One by One DVD. Therefore, roasted by giant floodlights set up to capture audience reaction. We managed to gradually work our way around a big white guy (nickname: The Hulk) to somewhere closer to the stage. A great show, but Green Shirt Guy kept energetically moshing into my ribs so I turned around and gave him an equally energetic shove into Red Shirt Guy's stomach. Ha. Ha ha. Stupid man.

July 11, 2003 - Papercut Friday: stubbed my toe, sliced sundry fingers on several life insurance applications, walked into a door. Walked. Into. A. Door. Now I have a bruise the size of my fist on my hip. This is beyond clumsy. This is-- this-- is stupid! Stupid stupid stupid bloody hip sticking out and arms that flail around hitting things indiscriminantly and TOES THAT GET ATTACKED BY INANIMATE OBJECTSARGGGGH!

Ahem. And I've been working everyday. And reading a lot. And bitterly watching the webcast of Bon Jovi's concert at the Molson Amphitheatre. Right now. Jon Bon Jovi. Ding dong.

HAPPY CANADA DAY! BONNE FETE, CANADA! Celebrated this Canada Day by sleeping in until 11 a.m., wearing new Smart Set skirt (like me, also...Canadian), eating at Maxim (opened by...Canadians), shopping at First Markham Place (located in...Canada), listening to my newly created Canada Day 2003 CD (featuring...Canadian artists), and blowing up part of our front yard via ancient firework found in the van Ho-ming won from MuchMusic (nation's music station) in promotion of the movie FUBAR (movie from...Canada).

Also read part of the new Harry Potter book (Great Britain... well, we are part of the Commonwealth.)

Must by more exploding bits the next time it's legally available. Oh yes. My day will come.

And now for a song that only a true Canadian can appreciate, an anthem to my home province, a tune dear to my heart, give it up for The Last Saskatchewan Pirate by The Arrogant Worms!

I used to be a farmer and I made a living fine
I had a little stretch of land along the CP line
But times were hard and though I tried the money wasn't there
The bankers came and took my land and told me fair was fair
I looked for every kind of job, the answer always no
'Hire you now?', they'd always laugh, 'we just let twenty go!'
The government they promised me a measly little sum
But I've got too much pride to end up just another bum

Then I thought....who gives a damn if all the jobs are gone
I'm gonna be a pirate on the river Saskatchewan

And it's a heave, ho, high, ho, coming down the plain
Stealing wheat and barely and other types of grain
And it's a ho, hey, high, hey, farmers bar your doors
When you see the Jolly Roger on Regina's mighty shores!

Well, Mountie Bob he chased me, he was always at my throat
He followed on the shoreline cos he didn't own a boat
But cutbacks were a-comin and the mountie lost his job
And now he's sailing with me and we call him Salty Bob!
A swinging sword, a skull-and-bones, and pleasant company
I never pay my income tax and screw the GST screw it!
Prince Albert down to Saskatoon, the terror of the sea
If you wanna reach the Co-op boy, you gotta get by me

And it's a heave, ho, high, ho, coming down the plain
Stealing wheat and barely and other types of grain
And it's a ho, hey, high, hey, farmers bar your doors
When you see the Jolly Roger on Regina's mighty shores!

Well, pirate life's appealing but you don't just find it here
I've heard that in Alberta there's a band of buccaneers
They roam the Athabaska from Smith to Fort McKay
You're gonna lose your Stetson if you have to pass their way
Well winter is a-coming and a chill is in the breeze
My pirate days are over once the river starts to freeze
I'll be back in springtime but now I've got to go
I hear there's lots of plundering down in New Mexico

And it's a heave, ho, high, ho, coming down the plain
Stealing wheat and barely and other types of grain
And it's a ho, hey, high, hey, farmers bar your doors
When you see the Jolly Roger on Regina's mighty shores!
