"Where the hell did all this snow come from?" - Pippin
It figures. January is tottering along on it's last legs, when BAM! Here's a pile of snow. Enjoy!
Actually, I don't really mind. Snow is pretty (a bit wet and cold and inconvenient), but pretty. And winter in Toronto just isn't the same without a dose of the white stuff. Hoo hoo! Where's my sled?

I've been reading through some of the Q&A at Green Books. My head hurts. Need to read Silmarillion again.

You know you're stressed when you write "Optimitation Problems" instead of "Optimization Problems" as the title for your calc note. And when you write "January Test" instead of "Calculus Test" in your agenda. And when you don't notice for two days. And when you can't unlock your locker because your standing at #347, not #346.

I am Dimple Chubb-Baggins, Legolas and Arwen. And according to Anya, I'm Fuzzyhead, an Ent (Entwife?). I think I'm having an identity crisis.

Patrick Swayze Super Mullet. Yes, a super mullet. I'm adding this link to my list, partly because of the title, but more because it's a Spiffy Blog. It reminds me of Heggs. Heggs, is this some secret website you've been working on? No, no. Heggs would be raving about Joydrop and Scratching Post, not Weezer.
Adjacent: "it's my nineteeth birthday today! who thought the day would ever come when i'd finally be of legal age to drink, smoke, and club (perhaps not all simultaneously) -- well, in vancouver, canada anyway. but i can't picture myself doing any of the above. beer tastes like rancid urine (i'm guessing), smoke is just smelly, and clubs are quite simply the brothels of many, many desperate singletons. and i choose to be non-desperate." Amen to that. People are surprised when I tell them that I'm surpised that so-and-so smokes/drinks/gets high every other weekend.
rosebaby. Damn. I have to stop clicking on 'Recently Updated Blogs'. Too many interesting things to read.
Jon Bon Jovi on Ally McBeal tonight. He plays the contracter she hires to renovate her house (that she decides to buy sometime in this episode, I'm assuming). Strange trend here: first he's a painter in Moonlight & Valentino, now this. Must tape, too much work. Fox and CTV @ 9pm.
(Why did they have to name his character Victor? I don't know, 'Victor' sounds like a creep. If your name is Victor, I'm sorry. I'm sure you're a very nice person. But in the land of television (also the land of T&A, cliches, predictability and increasingly bad sitcoms), the bad guy tends to have harsh-sounding names like Victor, Hector, Igor, etc. Anyway, just a thought.)

Ways To Be The Perfect Chinese Canadian Daughter...
- play the piano/cello/viola on the level of Yo-Yo Ma or similar musician
- never answer back
- heck, don't even have your own opinion. Or at least, don't say it aloud
- maintain a 95% average while participating in volleyball, badminton, band, debating, and student council
- date only nice Chinese boys with a future in medicine, business or computers
- enjoy eating rice day after day after day...
- read and write perfect Chinese (and speak Mandarin and/or Cantonese), French, English, Spanish, etc.
- be modest and suitably shy when meeting strangers
- call everyone in your parents generation "Auntie" or "Uncle"
- and for Heaven's sake, don't choose English as your major!
