My toe still hurts. It was a stupid mistake. I stubbed it really painfully hard (while jumping off the counter). D'oh. So for the past two days I've had to walk like Verbal Kent (sp?) from the Usual Suspects. That can't be a good thing... On another note, my brother is back from university. The house is suddenly very messy and empty of food. His girlfriend says he's the human version of entropy: wherever he goes, random chaos follows. And it's true :) My brother, Mr. E.
Non sequitur: Durians are evil. Stinky evil fruit.

I visited Adcritic.com today to find some of the music that is used in TV commercials. Here are some:
Galaxie 500 - Instrumental
Donovan - Mellow Yellow
Euphoria - Delerium
Hyperphonics - Wardrope
Anyway, I really need to get back to work. But since I put up the new template, I might as well aupdate it with something. And I have yet to talk about my toe. Ugh. I have to limp around the house.
Non sequitur...Exactly how do you catch a wink?

And the new template is not working. BLARGH! Very. Frustrating. It's probably just one spelling error that's messing everything up. Grr....
...Alright, I've figured out the template. But it seems Blogger is acting up. The FTP to Geocities isn't working, so I'm moving it back to blogger temporarily. For you personal entertainment: Urban Essence: A photographic journey through Tokyo. Beautiful photos.

Hi ho, hi ho... And the hunt for a summer job begins. No more daycamp. At first I was aiming for some kind of office job (filing, fetching coffee, scouring the floor, saving the world, etc.) or something cushy (I'm only human). But it looks like I'm headed for a cashier-type position at some sort of chain store (i.e. HMV, Sam's, and God forbid, Longo's). *sigh*
More bloggy goodness...Tokyo Tales. A fellow Pocky addict teaching in Tokyo. I wish I had sugar swizzle sticks...
Disgruntled with my site design again. This is, what, the fourth so far? Expect changes in the site design soon...

Went to get a haircut. All I have to say is:
- I am not a troll doll.
- I am not a shrub from Versailles.
- Twenty three dollars?!?!
Yes! I finally got the linking-to-a-post thingie working. And I finally managed to download Drops of Jupiter by Train:
Now that she's back in the atmosphere
With drops of Jupiter in her hair, hey, hey
She acts like summer and walks like rain
Reminds me that there's time to change, hey, hey
Since the return from her stay on the moon
She listens like spring and she talks like June, hey, hey
Azn p0w3r...( skyey ), Walk On The Edge, Aiyah!. I particularly like the title of that one. Also Lillian Chan, steven-ng.com, and Bebe (this one has a really really nice design).

More links...The Making of a Restaurant. Interesting stuff. Restaurant info, jokes, etc. Also, this link that I "borrowed" from usr/bin/girl, which was in turn borrowed from another site: How To Hide Your Ninja Lifestyle From Your Co-workers. Walking is a good idea.

My stomach is feeling rumbly. As in small internal earthquakes. It can't be a good thing. And I just got 33 junk email messages in one day. 33. I've gotten so many that my block sender list has reached its limit (250) and I've had to switch email addresses, from hotmail to yahoo.

Don't get me wrong. I love nature. It's beautiful. But the fact remains that Mother Earth and I seem to be arch enemies. It's a love-hate relationship. I have a tendency to get stung by insects or rained upon everytime I venture outside.
The fact that my father wants to go on a camping trip in August doesn't make this any better. It's in B.C., which is great because it's beautiful there and I haven't been to Vancouver before. BUT. It's for 10 days. And my brother and dad both snore like Mack trucks. I can take the tent life. I can take the hole in the ground washroom facilities. I can endure hiking and campfires and the like (I even enjoy those things). But not for 10 days. I think it's mostly the lack of a computer and internet connection that will exist while I'm there ^_^.
I've been camping once before. It was cold, wet and poorly organised. Plus I was in a three person tent with three other people. So it was a little squished. All in all, a bad experience (the canoes barely fit everyone and everything on board and a couple of people got soaked).
Five years ago, we asked Dad if he wanted to go camping. He said no. However, he seems to be going through a "phase", during which he is obsessed with spending as much time outside as possible. My brother says it's a midlife crisis. My mom just shakes her head and sighs (she's even more techy about camping than I am). So now we are pretty much bound for B.C. Despite my aversion to the outdoors (No! Natural light!), I think I'll live (and enjoy it in the process).

Pah. Silly me. The lyrics from yesterday are from the song Trading My Sorrows. I forget who wrote it.
I'm pressed but not crushed
Pesecuted not abandoned
Struck down but not destroyed
I am blessed beyond the curse
But his promise will endure
That his joy's gonna be my strength
Though the sorrow may last for the night
His joy comes in the morning.
I'm trading my sorrows...
And so on and so forth...
Linkety link link... I like books. I like reading. It is because I read so much
All Your Base jokes are spawning at an incredible rate. See here (Neobaka), here, and here (Avalon).

"Spring, thy name is colour"
I forget who said that. But it's true. Yesterday...a whopping 25 degrees Celcius. In the second week of April. In Toronto. It beat the old record of 21.4 degrees set in some year I can't remember.
I'm trading my sorrows
I'm trading my shame
I'm laying them down for the joy of the Lord
I'm trading my sickness
I'm trading my pain
I'm laying them down for the joy of the Lord

Yesterday, the entire grade 12 grade (plus some grads) went to watch Goodnight Desdemona, Good Morning Juliet. Funny, kind of scary (re: Juliet), an all around good show. PLUS (and this was the highlight of the evening), the woman who played Desdemona was also the voice actor for Storm on the X-Men cartoon. :) Ah, yes, on a side note, the writer of the play, Anne Marie Macdonald, also played the main character.
I'd forgotten how funny Rusty Shrapnel was.

Links Ahoy!
This is very cool. Make Paul and his buddies dance in front of the Taj Mahal to the beats of Men Without Hats or Michael Jackson or Bjork. Warning: Takes some time to load.
Fling the cow and try to hit the target. Don't worry...there's no splatishness here.
Jen is whining for me to go to the grade 5 classroom to work on the yearbook. She's still here.
And threatening to throttle me. Go away! Hold on....sheesh...

Hey cool. It's my 6th month of blogging. Happy Anniversary to me!
Coldplay - "Yellow"
Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do,
Yeah, they were all yellow.
I came along,
I wrote a song for you,
And all the things you do,
And it was called "Yellow."
So then I took my turn,
Oh what a thing to have done,
And it was all "Yellow."
Your skin
Oh yeah, your skin and bones,
Turn into something beautiful,
You know, you know I love you so,
You know I love you so.
I swam across,
I jumped across for you,
Oh what a thing to do.
Cos you were all "Yellow,"
I drew a line,
I drew a line for you,
Oh what a thing to do,
And it was all "Yellow."
Your skin,
Oh yeah your skin and bones,
Turn into something beautiful,
And you know for you,
I'd bleed myself dry for you,
I'd bleed myself dry.
It's true, look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine.
Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And all the things that you do.

This year is my school's 100th anniversary. Because of this, and because the administration enjoys charging money for dinky school paraphenalia, the centennary is one heckuva deal. New school uniform sweatshirts (good, because it's more comfy), keychains, watches, a tea set (.....?), etc. They even managed to get banners announcing it on the lamp posts on Yonge St. from Lawrence to Eglinton. There's going to be a "street party" sometime in May, complete with a roving street mime. I wonder, do mimes yell if you kick them? Or does it go against their principles? :)
Just a funny picture.

Happy April Fool's Day!!!!
........Ha! Gotcha! It's not April 1st! it's April 2nd! Sucker!
........Wait....That means I can't play pranks on anyone...crap.
Well, I just got back from the leadership weekend for the grade 12's at my school. Only 4 hours of sleep + daylight savings tim (i.e. lost an hour of sleep the night before) = VERY TIRED STUDENT. The workshop only lasts until lunch monday, but we still have to go to class. So if I fall asleep in the middle of Geography, I'll blame it on the school.
More songs I have to download:
Pixies - Here Comes Your Man*
Citizen Kane - Better Days*
J. Englishman - More*
Lit - My Own Worst Enemy*
Deep Blue Something - Breakfast at Tiffany's
Crystal Method - Busy Child*
See Spot Run - Weightless*
Electrasy - Cosmic Castaway*
BTK - Peppyrock*
Enya - Only Time
Stuff by Sting
Big Wreck - The Oaf*
Eels - Mr. E's Beautiful Blues*
Age of Electric - Remote Control*
Moby feat. Gwen Stefani - South Side*
More stuff by Moby
(*songs courtesy of Heggs :) Very punky-rocky-alternative-electronica-ish, but that's good)
Of course, with the cruddy 56K connection I have at home, it'll take forever and a day to get it done. Thank God for Getright...
