Dookie, February 2002 to June 2003



It is with great sorrow that Hoyan announces the passing of her dear friend, the most feared Sith Lord in hamster history, Count Dooku (Dookie).

Dookie, alternatively known as Dooks, "DOOKIE!!!", Tyrone, Shinji the Ninja Hamster, Pig, Sesame Pudding (think Chinese dessert) and the Thing, was liberated from Petcetera (Kingston location) by Hoyan's older brother as a high school graduation present in May 2002. The tiny black bear hamster soon developed a feisty, yet somewhat neurotic personality and adjusted well to his roomy Habitrail abode.

After several months of delinquency and botched escape attempts (resulting in remote control button massacres and the destruction and defacement of important tax documents), the Dookster abandoned the Dark Side and his former Sith ways and happily spent his days sleeping, eating, gnawing on the bars of his cage and traversing tens of miles on his trusty grey hamster wheel.

Dookie was a survivor, outliving his archnemesis Boh-Boh, his smaller Siberian cousins Toasty and Melinda, and his short-lived girlfriend the love of his life, April. Unfortunately, he was struck down by a mysterious illness, believed to be contracted from archnemesis number two, the scruffy Fut-Fut/Pigpen (didn't live long enough for us to decide on a name). Dookie died a fighter to the end, battling for every tiny breath. But ultimately, he succumbed to the sickness at 7:52 PM on June 1, 2003. He lived to a ripe old age of one year and four months.
