Oh my gosh. I just found out my cousin's school is within a mile of the WTC. This whole time I thought her university campus was outside of New York, or at least, not in Manhatten.

She just emailed us and told us that all classes have been cancelled, all stores (except supermarkets and some internet cafes) are closed. Apparently some of the buildings (dorms?) are right next to the WTC and all the students who were staying there are now camped out in the indoor basketball courts. Luckily, her building wasn't evacuated, and she's okay.

It's scary. This strikes so close to home.
