The Power of Footwear

Ah ha ha. Slippers have the power to change the world.

So my jeh ("big sis" - adopted) has been studying non-stop for the past week, so we (housemates and I) have gotten used to seeing her only in the early morning before classes and late at night when she gets back from the library. But yesterday we realized none of us had seen her since the previous day's morning. So we got a little worried and started calling friends to see if she's shown up.

Long story short, it turns out she got back really late the night before and thought that we were all asleep or out. Why? Because my housemate's and my house slippers were sitting by the front door. (See, in our house, leaving your slippers by the door is an indication that you are currently out of the house. It's a good system.)

Thus, M, assuming that Wnd and Bento were asleep and Nem and I were out because of our SS (Slipper Status) thought there was no one at home to inform that she was home. So M goes merrily off to bed and leaves early the next morning, again without seeing anyone, throwing the rest of the household into a dangerous worry spiral culminating in my scolding her both in person and via door-adjacent whiteboard. That's a bad Marge! Bad!

(Oh, and I wasn't out...i traded slippers for awhile so that my normal ones were sitting by the door. Oops)
